Chromos is operated by Village Verve SRL ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Chromos application ("the App").
What We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name through Firebase Authentication. This information is used solely to identify your account and enable you to access your data across devices.
Garment Photos
When you upload photos of clothing or accessories, these images are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage and linked to your account. We use these photos to extract dominant colors, remove backgrounds, and categorise garments — all in service of generating palettes and outfit suggestions for you.
Wardrobe and Styling Data
Your wardrobe contents, saved palettes, and outfits are stored in our database and linked to your account. This data is what powers your personalised styling experience.
Usage Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how people use Chromos — which features are popular, where users encounter friction, and how we can improve the App. This data is linked to your user account to help us understand usage patterns across sessions.
Crash Data
We collect crash reports to diagnose and fix technical issues. This data helps us keep the App stable and reliable.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your precise location, financial information, contacts, browsing history, or any health or fitness data. We do not collect biometric data or sensitive personal information such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, or religious beliefs.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data exclusively to provide and improve the Chromos service:
- To authenticate your account and secure your data
- To extract colors from garment photos and generate palettes
- To match garments in your wardrobe to palette colors
- To store your outfits, palettes, and wardrobe for your personal use
- To analyse usage patterns and improve the App
- To diagnose crashes and technical issues
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with data brokers. We do not use your data for tracking or targeted advertising across other apps or websites.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Chromos:
- Firebase Authentication — for account management and login
- Firebase Cloud Storage — for storing garment photos
- Neo4j — for storing your wardrobe graph, palettes, and outfits
- PostHog — for usage analytics
These services process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies. We do not share your data with any other third parties.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers located in the European Union (Google Cloud, europe-west1 region). We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and authenticated API access.
Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as you maintain an active account. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data, including your garment photos, wardrobe data, palettes, and outfits.
Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Delete your personal data
- Export your personal data in a portable format
- Object to the processing of your personal data
- Withdraw consent at any time

Children's Privacy
Chromos is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other appropriate means. The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated.
